As a 14 year old, it is very important for me to stay busy and meet up with friends, with as little study as possible. I had 21 days of winter break and a strong will to commit to a million plans. I wanted to give my room a makeover, do some shopping, learn how to bake cookies and hangout with friends, only to name a few of the activities.
My highlights of this break were:
Catching up with friends; there were friends that I hadn’t met in almost two years and after meeting them I felt happy that we connected after such a long time.
Going to Myer; I went to Myer twice in the holidays. There was a variety of styles and color's that I found appealing. If I was allowed to buy what I wanted, I would’ve returned home with almost 10 dresses and a bunch of accessories! My mum also bought a bunch of home decor, which is a great idea as a gift for someone.
I also went to The Wednesday Night Winter Market in the Queen Victoria Market, located in Melbourne City, and had delicious food for dinner. The desserts there are too good to be true. My friend had brought a crème Brulé and it was amazing!
We went a to a party, in a restaurant called Emerald Peacock. The ambience was beautiful, with an elegant atmosphere. The food was very unique and frankly yummy. An example was were savory pancakes with duck or veggies, which I found really tasty and interesting. There were also a lot of options for vegetarians too.
It is very important to balance studying, social activities and fun. After school exams and the selective test in June, I took these three weeks as an opportunity to debunk and relax. Now with two days left to school, I am excited to learn new things and get back to my school with my friends.
